From Indiewire People comes World Cinema, from the San Francisco Film Society, which brings an account of Anthony Kaufman on what is cinema and concludes with the statement by Kiarostami
"You can neither teach cinema or learn about cinema," he told me. "You just have to put yourself in a situation to see if you have something to say. No one really knows who is the best film director," he added. "But it's definitely not the people who studied cinema."
There are some interesting images and a full article on the link attached which makes good reading for those whose interests relate to the movies.
This article came my way, almost by accident, but I feel sure many will be inspired by it.
