Where have all the Orblers gone - long time passing?

February 14th 2007 03:00
Digital Art for Orblers
Signature tune

There seems to be a slow pace at Orble at present, many of those who regularly post do not seem to be doing so.

Has money got anything to do with that?

Or is there just some strange malaise around?

Whatever it is, here' s a small contribution from me, while I am still willing and able.

Enjoy the show.

Express any thoughts you have on the art by giving us your view or any view of Orble. All comments are welcome, provided they meet the 'dress code', which really needs to be under review; other sites monitor for bad language and obscene content, which, personally I think is long overdue here.

Oh Katyzz! I enjoy my cursing and the fact that it is allowed here is one of the reasons I am here! I agree, posts are a bit sparse arent they? I would have to say money and maliase are responsable, there is certainly some depression in the air!
Im going to post some of my happy poems for you - I have a closetful of poetry, short stories and beginnings of novels on EVERY topic, not to mention sketches and collages!

K,

Curse in the closet and while you're there bring on some of that stuff, what's holding you back?

And, Adrienne, loved your response.

I guess for Valentine's day that red heart is in big demand. It really is distinctly striking, the wiley old fox!

Good to see you both, so where are the Chocolates? Better make it roses, any colour for me will do. I'm desperate.

I'm trying to post as much as I can. However, I am working two jobs at the moment, so I do not have a lot of spare time. Hopefully things will settle down soon.
I like the 'Just Blues' design - it draws you in.

It's been a while I've seen the simpler designs of yours. Nevertheless I love them because they are simple and nice. ^_^

Nina and Jessicca,

Yes, I can see when you're working it is incredibly difficult to keep up with all this stuff, especially when there are hiccups in the system.

Thank you both for your visits.

Good on you, Luke, yes I've noticed you're churning them out.

Having any troubles posting, I am, it's taking ages, I think that's some of the problem.

Nice to see your face, up close and personal.

Keep up the good work.

Yes, Luke, I've noticed that. Keep up the good work.

Having any trouble posting? I am, it's taking so long as not to be worth bothering. I guess that's some of the problem.

Julie,

Welcome, it's lovely to see you.

Dare I say it, I use MS Paint but have now moved on to Paint.NET, both available for free.

I just keep on experimenting seeing what I can come up with.

My initial aim was to encourage those, computer illiterate or semi literate, to become more familiar with computing and to provide some new activity for the brain to encourage the sprouting of new neural connections, to preserve and enhance brain health.

I have no knowledge of these other things to which you refer. You mean there is actually one called fractals. Someone asked me about that and I don't think I realised that programs based exclusively on fractals were available.

I gave a reasonably technical explanation as quite frankly, at that stage, I hadn't heard of fractals, but in the final analysis, and indeed with any art, I guess it could be argued that all are based on fractals. It is a specific form of mathematics.

I'd be interested in anything else you have to say about this so I'll keep my eyes open for you.

Yes, Orble has been running slowly for me... I've been having trouble posting pictures. Maybe the traffic is too much or something and it's time to upgrade the server.

Ash,

You've been slow on this one, I had to check up as I felt sure you'd already responded.

I'm having great trouble getting posts on at the moment and yesterday's stats, for me, showed nil everything which just is not possible, hope it comes right soon, patience is not exactly one of my characteristics, and I'm into time management, not the other way around.

Hope it is fixed soon.

Yes my apologies katyzzz have been a little snowed under these past couple of days and have had trouble getting onto your site - it keeps timing out on me. It seems a little quicker today though which is why I left the short comment. I hope this one stays.

I typed out responses the other day and the whole thing disappeared....very frustrating...the fish nearly got a computer!

Patience is a virtue I do not posses so I feel your frustration. I hope it`s all back to normal soon

I find myself posting less and less because I have run out of ideas.

Maybe I should do a post on that.....

P.S. I like 'lines' - kinda got a 2001pace Odessy feel to it, very psychadelic

Where do I begin? Backwards.

Chris,

I know exactly how you feel, I guess it's a little easier for me that way, but it is hard to come up with themes. Just keep trying and don't worry if you put on a bad post, someone might actually like it and it's not the end of the world if they don't.

Everyone, Jon has put on a post about the server, which solves that riddle, but for those time pushed it must have been a real problem. Yes, especially for me as I am looking forward to being time pushed and testing how I'll cope, not too well with Orble, OK with everything else, JUST.

Wendi,

You are the wise philosopher, maybe that is what brings calm with you.

I can understand how you feel, I'm all for a fight metaphorical boots and all and a few kicks, trouble is I am usually on the receiving end.

With respect to what I call unseemly material, there is a difference to being able to choose what you are exposed to and having those things forced on you.

Cursing, to me is the language of violence and road rage and drugs and perversions, rather than diversions.

I believe it can be avoided in the public arena and it is good to be able to express oneself without its use. That leads for better communication all round and hopefully less anger and hate.

But I can understand your saying live and let live and I am very mindful that you don't like conflict so I would not wish to burden you in any way.

I certainly appreciate your calm presence and fortunately those who visit me do so reasonably respectfully so I am happy with that.

Thanks for a very thoughtful comment, I'm sure your words will be appreciated by many, myself included. I am working on your triangles but they'll probably come out a little differently than expected.

Mrs. M,

I read your post and commented before seeing your comments here. Well done, well said.

I'm with you all the way and have said so accordingly, you're doing better than I could have done.

I hate housework. I really was born to be rich and famous, funny how things don't always turn out that way, although I think the rich and famous are shockingly mixed up and still the house is not well kept even with the paid workers.

Ash,

Your fish or one of my fish, mine cost less and my fish could do with a laptop to supplement the desktop as you're throwing things around.

They say there's one in every family. I usually hurl the words, just as damaging and less expensive unless the recipient needs a psychiatrist.

Oh, we are a happy little family, here at Orble aren't we? Warts and all and we are putting it on display, world wide, almost as good as Dr. Phil.

katyzzz......I must have a little talk with you later, can't have the world thinking both my adopted daughters are prone to violence.

No, I know you had no say in your adoption, other children don't get to choose their parents either.

Luke,

All has been revealed Jon has told us the server has been down for some of us. Nothing like learning about things after they've happened. Just like the facts of life after the baby has been born.

And I see, you've been fiddling the books, [good pun that] as you've put up 4 identical posts, good way to get ahead. Oh, no, no, no, don't tell me it was the server, the most I've ever done because of that is two, oh, well, perhaps three, but comments only , not posts, oh well, we're not all destined for fame even though I thought I was.

HI Katyzzz,

I'm still here, flitting around ... on and off as time permits - like Wendi, I try to make it a low stress activitiy.

However, it has been MAD MAD MAD lately trying to comment, to post, even to access sites!

My intuition tells me that it's possible that with everyone joining Google AdSense, it's sent the Orble traffic through the roof? Maybe Luke is right about the servers needing an update.

A word from the Admin on it would be nice here and there?

I always feel like I've said too much or done something wrong and that I'm being punished - "maybe my AdSense poem upset "Jon?" or things like that *lol* anyway, not today and I'm glad to be here - especially after yesterday - which was just too long to talk about again!

So here is my quick pick favourite for the day : LINES - it reminds me of all the unbroken links on Orble over the past few days, the very worst of which has been loosing long comments like this one, during the posting... luckily this one will make it through, becuase I'm typing them in a wrod document first now, just incase?

The rain is powering down here in se Q in torrential torrents and it is trememdous to hear it on the tin roof again! ...going to bed now to curl up with a good book, or two... does it get any better than that?

)
Lilla ...

Lilla,

It's the servers, Jon has now left a comment, it's been naughty word. Showing my poverty of vocabulary.

I shall return later, I just lost another long answer, I don't like that, that's the most moderate response I could come up with, good aren't I.

Darling, I wouldn't miss your comments for the world, my other adopted daughter is blaming you for the family 'angst' so I've a little family talk scheduled, you'll love that, you know one of those things I am always preaching about that sound great in theory but don't do so well in practice.

Like Zorro, love the z, I shall return.

Vixter,

Thanks for your news, yes I guess all those other things have to take priority, good to hear you'll keep Orble in reserve though to satisfy your need for an outlet. You seem to have everything in the right perspective. sorry about the delayed reply, I kept losing things, Orble systems.

Lilla,

Now I've forgotten what I was coming back for.

Don't worry about Jon's hurt feelings, I think he has the skin of an armadillo. I think he just gets on with what has to be done and doesn't go galloping around Orble watching everything, anyway Adsense's no sense nonsense is not his concern. I get all those silly feelings too, they are just that silly feelings, don't worry about me talking to you like that, I'm your mother and have your interests at heart.

Don't work too hard my precious. Keep that little butterfly healthy, you never did tell me about the goose, I hope it was tasty.

No, that's a new one Adrian,

I guess these things happen from time to time, it's running hot at the moment.

I believe a big problem was Orble's sytems and people were just giving up in frustration and the loss of their valuable time. Thanks for your visit, as usual, it's great to see? you.
