What have you learned from Blogging?

computer Art blogging brain puzzle
Signature tune

I'd like to know what you think blogging has taught you and what you have learned from it.

As we progress I'll tell you a little of what I have learned. I have actually been quite surprised?

Who is going to be brave enough to have first go?

Anyone who mentions anything at all connected with my blog, not necessarily from my blog will receive a high distinction. There will be no fails except for the odd academic and I mean that word in at least two senses, the occasional self-declared gifted child and anyone who solved Einstein's puzzle correctly. For anyone who mentioned the cat eating the fish such as myself and Lily a mark of 100% will be awarded, mental arithmetic of primary school equivalent not being an issue.

Go for it.

We're up and running and heading for the first post.

I've included a brain puzzler just to keep the interest up.

Hi katyzzz,

I have only just started blogging, but am really enjoying it. It's a great way to share ideas and talk with like-minded, or not so like-minded, people. It's also given me heaps of ideas to write about in my journalism course...the stuff they don't mention in mainstream media.

Milly,

Congrats on being first, and you're only a new chum. 100% for being first and for being aware of what they don't teach you.

Smart little cookie. Bravo.

Other places yet to be filled.

Surprisingly I learn the most from posting. Watching technology news has me learning something new every few minutes. Then I take that information and expand upon it through my own view.

Blogging is quite educational.

Yes. I have certainly learned a lot through posting and I realise that for you keeping up with technology is quite hard to do.

I'd like to learn more so follow technology blogs quite avidly, even though I may not know quite just what they mean but I do get some idea.

Thank you for your views and a better picture of those glasses, I've been wondering about them, seeing the little face behind them gave me an entirely different outlook.

You've passed, of course, but I am going to grade people as we go along [just for fun, really] I'm very appreciative of all views.

I guess the main thing I have been taught is that you get ahead by respecting and appreciating others work. There's no room for a me-first attitude. We all share the same passion and should help each other succeed!!

Very true Chantal,

Pass at present, other grades given as we progress.

Chantal, are you saying that you are a communist?

Joe,

I'm having a bit of trouble getting my head around that one, would you be able to explain and telling us what you have learned would be great.

You have been given a post and will be assessed at that time. You should know that as a special privilege and as a sign of your goodwill you will receive whatever grade you deserve, not be restricted to the nomal 50% under such circumstances, you have obviously misread the question, undoubtedly distracted by Chantal's special charms.

Chantal may expand on her views on communism for you [ and me]

And you reckon you're having trouble getting your head etc......

Anyhoo....

Joe,

You seem to have posed a question to Chantal?

But, I accept your protest and you have done and passed your post, the final grade will be awarded a little later on, when I use that Bell curve to skew everyone into some sort of expected position. Silly isn't it!

With Livejouenal i kind of got to figure out alot about me personally... on orble, i learn about how to make stuff that appeals to the masses, and how to argue a point successfully.

I have learned that I can write and get payed at the same time, although a very measly amount. Also, I have learnt that music connects to the brain (insert reference to this blog/you).

Also, that Orble becomes slightly addictive...

Also, whats wrong with communists?

A high distinction, naturally, first up.

An interesting and informative comment. I'll leave you free to debate with whoever you wish the issue of communism.

katy, since I'm still wet behind the ears with this, I'd say so far, it's taught me some much-needed ability to honor a commitment. By actually following through on that, I've gotten stability out of it. Furthermore, the inklings of some very interesting friendships. All good for myself, if you ask me.

That is really interesting to hear, I haven't forgotten you and I've been watching your participation, I, too, think this has been good for you, I'll follow up on that other orble matter on Monday, I was out all day Friday, and will be out at least some of the time on Monday, so a little patience may be required.

You're doing well. It is good to learn what you have learned from blogging.

Blogging is awesome because you can say things you wouldn't say in real life and feel confident when you hide behind a blog-guise, don't you agree?

Hey Katy,

Please don't grade this comment!

I've been blogging, on and off, for at least five years. I suppose the main things I've got from it are:

1. Writing development. -- As bad as my style and structure are now, they'd be a lot worse without the practice.

2. Better grasp of the process of working thoughts out. -- This one's hard to explain. What I mean is something like a better understanding of what's involved in developing ideas.

3. General intellectual stimulus, and whatever one gets from putting oneself together piece by piece from looking at a lot of different particular questions.

Adrian,

Really helpful comment, why not grade you unless you come into the destined to fail category?

You'd certainly attract at least a credit.

But time will tell, but I won't tell if you don't want me to.

Thanks for the visit

katyzz

Psst .... your you tube awaits you're bound to like it once you've got passed the lyrics, the visuals and then you can tax your brain with the music? see, I do remember what you say.

I oringinally started Orble with the $ signs flashed infront of me. Now I look at it as a place just to say what I need to say, listen to what other people and just be myself. I think just on that concept its a great idea and as writers we should look for the market where we can do this now and again - not worry about the grammatically correct, the spelling mistakes, missing that and adding this - Ive learned from blogging that you can be yourself, people need not comment, people need not saying anything or they can comment and they can say something and help to make you better people....its great!!!!!!!!!!!!!ive learnt to say what i want and only ask for some real REAL pointers only to better myself and just appreciate what others have to say
LONG LIVE THE WRITER!

Lilla,

You really are a lot of fun, I must have tuned into your alter ego.

Did you click the song. Probably not to your taste but it's fun. The kids will like it.

It's on the very pink one, no, not the other one, listen, it will really get that tension going early.

Glad I'm doing something for your brain, and it sure is a h...l of a one.

Spelling, I'm one of the lucky ones, I'll have to see what I can do, just picked it up, no effort was ever required, although I must admit it's getting a bit tricky nowadays.

Maybe I could arrange some good old fashioned spelling beezzzzzz.

There's bound to be some computer games that will help.

Lovely Lilla,

I think you misunderstood me, one is NEVER too old to learn, what I meant was with all the strange spelling around, the English/American and the jargon.

I'm sure your brain's just great and getting better I feel sure with my puzzlers.

Slow reading, rather than full pelt and with good literature will soon iron out some spelling difficulties, I feel sure, are you sure it's not just those computer fingers, that's something else again.

Brenton,

I think we all learn the hard way, I do understand what you are saying.

A good thing about blogging is that we get to say things uninterrupted, but, I don't think that is how the real world functions, it's a little more difficult.

But I do think blogging is a good and interesting experience. It allows one to develop a point of view.

What I learn from blogging?

I learn that whatever you are writing, it is open to the world to read.

For me, as a new writer, there are a lot of things to learn like being humble to accept comments (nice or harsh) and I get to improve my writing skills from it.

But I also learn that you need to stand firm on whatever you write, as a post or a comment. If you are so scared of people comment what you wrote. Keep quiet and stop blogging.

ok, lets look at the brighter side of it. Well I have manage to make some nice friends here like katyzzz, Manda and Lilla who are nice and supportive.

Another thing is through the health articles I've been writing (and also reading Manda's) I learned a lot about health and what is going to be if we do not take care of our health. There are also a lot of nice tips and tricks and myths and truths uncovered from reading lots of magazine, news and articles on the web.

Bottom line is, it's fun to blog, as long as you know what your blogging.
(blogging trash is also a purpose, not everyone can blog aimlessly )
