Watches for the well to do.

JUNGHANS SPEKTRAL, £399 [for the just starting out]
The solar-powered Spektral is one of the most accurate watches in the world because it automatically adjusts the time several times a day via its radio transmitter. It's made from high-grade titanium, which is 40 per cent lighter than steel but at least as strong.
A fine watch is essential for men, and the chunkier and more eye-catching the better. Take the time to find the one that's right for you.
HUBLOT BIG BANG, £4,480
Measuring 44.5mm across, the Big Bang self-winding watch dwarfs all but the thickest of wrists. Its design sandwiches super-tough resin between blocks of stainless steel, giving the appearance that the black rubber strap cuts through the middle of the timepiece itself. Sapphire-crystal front and back dial panels display the Hublot's renowned precisionmachined mechanics.
JAEGERLE COULTRE MASTER COMPRESSOR £4,050
The power reserve on the master compressor keeps it running for 42 hours without winding - which it does by itself when moved - so it still accurately tells the time if left at home over the weekend. Manufactured almost entirely from steel, the attention to detail is stunning - it even has bezel protectors.
There are more expensive watches I know, but I did say well to do, not filthy rich.
It's nice to look at these things even if you've no intention of buying.
