How important is it to put in that smiley or ha ha ha ha!

You know many times I sit here chuckling away to myself, thoroughly enjoying a humorous comment, but many times - well, in fact, most times - I never let my reader know, as I forget to add that vital flag of Ha ha ha ha, or even that friendly little smiley fellow
which, incidentally I have only recently discovered how to do, and from now on you'll be seeing them popping up all over the place to demonstrate my new found skill, don't attempt it if you don't know how, it is really very very difficult and I intend to charge top $ for teaching it, turning it into a University degree if at all possible, ( pays better than adcents) But I do realize that laughing out loud, sitting here all by myself, does not travel well on cyberspace, of course I could also use LOL but that can have more than one meaning I am discovering.
So, to those who make me laugh so much, generally Raven, but sometimes fog and quite often Tracy and anyone else I have left out (oh, yes, Mal, but he generally talks to me on someone else's site so that can be a bit difficult to reply to) I do apologise for not acknowledging your humour and wit. Please forgive me, or I may well burn in Hell, so some would tell me.
So, having acknowledged my own deficiencies I wonder how important you think adding that little smiley or those bright little ha ha ha ha's is?
Your responses would be appreciated, not that I give a stuff about them of course, I only do this for the votes, as well as the money, so they tell me, funny that, because I don't attract much of either.
Should you give me a humorous response I shall try very hard to remember to show my appreciation in the usual manner.
