Your nose is hard-wired to your brain

Certainly smelling beautiful roses or perhaps lavendar makes you feel good and the smell of hot food makes your gustatory juices flow, so smell it, and get your brain going.
In the case of a smell, the memory is the most profound and striking because of that direct connection to the olfactory bulb
Human beings have among the weakest powers of olfaction, or smell, in the animal kingdom. which means that your friendly little animals and even some big ones which you don't usually keep in your home have it all over us when it comes to smells, good or bad.
Smell can trigger memories going right back to your childhood, which is stimulating and rewarding.
So do use your sense of smell to assist your memory.

I don't like the smell, but like the cake, strangely enough
