When I was attending primary school, I remember one task in history class where we were tasked to write the lyrics of the national anthem from memory.
Within minutes, my classmates and I would start to sing it one phrase at a time, racking our memory function, pausing and singing again, as we went on writing the song.
It was extremely interesting, how we have committed the song to memory but we cannot retrieve it unless we sing it!
Here is a classic example on how singing and memory go together. In truth, auditory memory works wonders.
One of the best things singing can do for your memory is that it lowers stress levels, decreasing heart rate, creating a relaxed environment for the body. Stress is a major culprit associated with memory loss problems. Enhancing your auditory memory reverses that and improves memory ability. Furthermore, singing creates a happy feeling, reducing the risk of depression - another factor linked to memory wasting.
Banking on auditory memory also triggers a strong episodic recall. Have you ever had those experiences where upon hearing an old song, it triggers memories from your childhood and you start to get flooded with the things you did and the events that has taken place during the time that song was king of the radio waves? An enhanced auditory memory does that for you - singing does that for you.
So imagine harvesting the power of your auditory memory and applying it to work. Your productivity will greatly improve because of your superior memory function, not to mention a skyrocket of your generally well-being!
Be the next right-hand man of your boss with your enhanced memory function. Sing your brain out and increase work productivity by a mile!
