Where do seagulls breed?

Where do seagulls breed?
Signature Tune

I've never thought about this before, have you?

A flock of seagulls hang fluttering over their nests in a remote island off Tongyong, 450 kilometers (290 miles) south of Seoul, on June 8. The island is one of the most famous hatching places for seagulls on the southern coast of the Korean peninsula. CNN

Seagulls.

Not the best of photographs, but it is informative. I believe that commercial photography does not require the best artistic endeavours but generally a good and appropriate image.

Did you know this? Of course, I am not referring to the high flyers with an extraordinary reputation for their work but the day to day requirements of the job.

Hi Katyzzz

A very interesting photo... I am experimenting at the moment on how to do that - use the flash and get the background lighting in at the same time!

Why seagulls were ever created is my question. I used to love them.... until I lived in England - then they became a nuisance more than anything!

I think you'll find it's the lens that causes the problem.

What kind of camera do you have?

A Nikkon with suitable lens can do wonders.

But I must confess after my 18 months obsession, with some small commissions, I've been pretty slack in that area.

That sound like me, the story of my life.

I have a Pentax *istD with a Sigma lens - I am still fiddling with all the dials and trying things out with it - you certainly get some interesting results!

Tried the instruction book, bit dull really and I never understand such things until after I've learned how to do it. Then it's clear.

Can you change lenses? and have you tried filters? Ah, yes I remember forget it well.

can`t be bothered with instruction manuals.... I probably should, but I prefer the trial and error approach

Ihave tried my sisters pentax lens on but the sigma one works better.... and I love filters... I only have a polarising and some other one (gradual tobbaco?) .... hhhmmm I need to go and have a look for another one actually - time to try some new shots!

You and I are on the same wave length there, Ash.

Experimenting is more fun and more productive, but sometimes when we can't seem to get what we want a manual can give an easy quick solution.

That's the way it's been for me, anyway.

I'm itching to get my hands on my camera again, but for the moment it will have to wait.
