Scientists Might Be Able To Reverse Memory Loss

Alzheimer’s is a dreadful disease if you come to think of it. It destroys the memory cells of the brain and this causes memory loss. In a groundbreaking discovery, scientists have been able to generate these cells in the laboratory.
If all goes well, this could mark as the ground stone of what could be the first ever effective treatment for memory loss.
These brain cells could be used for the memory retrieval as well and that is what makes it such a powerful and much awaited invention.
Alzheimer’s works as a slow poison and the memory retrieval cells of the brain are killed. The effect of this is that people have a great difficulty in trying to remember things.
The idea of the scientists is to try and regenerate these cells and then be able to do some sort of a transplant where all the destroyed cells can be given back to the brain.
"Now that we have learned how to make these cells, we can study them in a tissue culture dish and figure out what we can do to prevent them from dying", said Dr. Jack Kessler, who led the study at Northwestern University in Chicago.
