Pristine Snow and Alone!

Pristine snow and alone

Craftsbury, Vermont, 1997

Photograph by Michael S. Yamashita

A horse paws trampled snow in a paddock amid a criss-cross of split-rail fences on a Craftsbury, Vermont, farm.

Part of the Appalachian Mountain system, the Green Mountains (background) stretch for 250 miles (402 kilometers) through central Vermont. The name Vermont comes from the French verts monts, or "green mountains."

Hi katyzzz

ah how wonderful is that? Takes me back to the day that I first saw snow - it was a scene almost like that although the snow wasn`t that thick...

beautiful and just the place to be transported to ona winter night

You can't hold you little Scorpios back, as I learnt the hard way.

I'm into dishwashers, I remember our first, after putting up for many years with a reluctant husband I just decided I'd have one, money was not an issue.

Funnily enough it was not he who was involved in the washing of dishes just myself and the children.

On installation, we set it up, full of dishes, dirty ones of course, then both sat down in front of it to watch, there wasn't anything to see just to hear. After a few minutes I said, this is ridiculous, and the fascination disappeared.

Once having got one, of course, he suddenly became a great fan.

Environmentalists don't like them , oh, well, oh dear, I'm looking forward to the new super terrific one I'll get from your first million, but must say I'll miss the outings. I guess you're looking forward to that first million too. The first is the hardest, so they tell me.

So beautiful. Never see that kind of snow in my part of the US. We get snow fall maybe 2 days a year. Thanks for finding such a lovely pic
