A-Cross from the Cottage!
August 14th 2007 06:37
It's a Church really but it looks like a Cottage, don't you think? Well perhaps not, but I love the atmosphere of this photograph, with it's grey cloudy sky and the barrenness of the surroundings and the beige and browns and greys and the dilapidation but still there is that majesty.

A large stone cross welcomes visitors to the San Ignacio Mission church near Creel, Mexico.
The church, built by Jesuits in the 1700s, is often used by the region's Tarahumara Indians as a gathering place and a market to sell their handicrafts to tourists.

It's the door that gives that welcoming cottage feel. I'm loving everything about this photo, the atmosphere it creates is amazing.
You signature tune is fantastic too, it's like it's creeping out of the screen at me.
Cool stuff as always.
Take Care.

It's always lovely to see you and have your comments. Your comment about the door was very perceptive.
You pop up so unexpectedly, you're like a breath of fresh air.

Flashes of memories
Great find. I love buildings like this - their simplicity is amazing. I went to a tiny church in Scotland where Rob Roy is buried... similar in it`s simplicity and just as beautiful

It's really good to have such an image for you which means so much.
Ash,
That's a fascinating little story you told us. You really have "been everywhere man, and of trouble you've had your share ma'am. You've been everywhere, so where's the travel book?
Lovely to see you both.
