Reaching up and out!

Reaching up and out - Photograph
Signature Tune

Maderas del Carmen, Mexico, 1993

Photograph by Bruce Dale

Wiry bloom stalks from two sotol plants lean toward sunlight that streams through a break in the clouds in the Maderas del Carmen Protected Area. The mountainous park in Mexico's Coahuila State joins with Big Bend National Park on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande.

Sotol is a favorite snack of black bears, and its blooms attract swarms of flying insects including flies, bees, and butterflies. Juice from the stem is somewhat sweet and can be pressed and fermented to make the fiery liquor mescal de sotol.

That's Ash,

See you when you get back.

What have you been up to lately,

You know your photo seems to look straight at me and very knowingly.

I guess that's a Scorpio for you,

Now,

Just what have I been teaching you girls? you see with your eyes, what else Ash,

You hear with your ears,

You smell with your nose, Tracy.

Now do you girls understand me.

Those webs surely are sticky, I've had them in my hair, removed them with great difficulty with my hands, not that I'd expect you two to understand that, I haven't done hands yet, although if you pay as much attention as you did to the eyes and nose, I may as well not bother....oh, well, yes, I take your point.

All is not lost you surely understood the ears, but don't believe those rumours, and don't show any cleavage, there are eyes around here that will pop out of their heads searching for your brain, one has to wonder where theirs is, oh, you got that one, that's good, it's a lesson to be learned early in life.

It's the weekend Ash, another little journey planned?

And Tracy, not too many movies mind, although it does keep the occasional loaf of bread rolling in. Oh, I do get excited when my earnings go up from well not much at all to very little indeed, I can see I'll have to get into hyperbole a bit more and inflate them. Pity the inflation rate is so low at the moment.

Anyone know a good way to make money, stacks of it? repectable of course.

katyzzz...going out to buy some lego.

eyes, ears, nose.... I think the experts have got it all wrong they don`t know what they are talking about....

its the weekend indeed... not sure what I have planned I have to get through the holiday tomorrow... ug! won`t be busy but still a bummer knowing it`s a holiday and I`m working....

bring on the weekends... there are many roads to explore... I`m starting up my Australian Traveller website again so all travel stories will probably end up there now...

going to buy some lego.....

Ash,

What? you mean they are talking through their ears or hats as the old saying goes, really, I can't agree with that!

Unfortunately, experts do know more and more about less and less and thereby hangs a tale, not necessarily a traveller's one.

Glad you're taking up Lego too, you never know we might be able to do a joint exhibition, I bags doing the missing bits and you can do the rest which is much more important. Profit 50% each of course. Best avoid a loss, don't you think, we'd be paying that off with our google earnings for a very long time.

Sorry you have to work, I try to avoid those four letter words as much as possible, although they are very popular around here but less than they used to be, which is a relief, they were so, so, so boring.
