Learning Paint.net, Ballet and funny cartoon

Paint.net, ballet and cartoon
Signature tune

I have the new Paint.net a supposedly superior version to MS Paint, downloads for free from the net.

It does have some superior features but lacks some of the flexibility of the usual MS Paint.

For your purposes the MS Paint is perfectly satisfactory.

Not claiming what I have done for you to-day as art, it is simply an initial play with some of the tools: it's going to take me a while to get off the ground and I may well return to MS Paint for some of the effects I want to achieve.

Don't laugh there is still some value in what I am doing and there are still some interesting features, if you look for them.

The puzzler is prepared with the new Paint.net, too. The signature tune is taken as usual from some previously prepared work done on MS.

As well as the art [?] I am including video clips of Ballet, which some of you may have seen in a TV program and surely there are some Ballet lovers out there, don't forget to have a look at the other clip on Pirouette, her technique is faultless.

There's also a funny lttle cartoon, which many will argue is not, but you'll get the gist.

Ballet

Cartoon

And here's the Art [?]

I never could get into using paint and other similar programs. I guess these were really built for drawing and I do a lot of photo manipulation instead of drawing.

I use a free program called "The Gimp" to do all of my editing work.

I loved that ballet clip. Great stuff.

The signature tune looks like a marching band having lots of fun. The rest of the art looks like seascapes to me.

Is the signature tune supposed to set the tone for the other art? Or does it serve a different purpose?

Eric,

I wouldn't say they were meant for drawing. It is not easy to draw with the tools provided but can create art or design, but I wouldn't say those programs are normally suitable for commercial use.

I just started out "fiddling" and not on a violin, then playing and then, somehow, I was doing things I had never anticipated. Thanks for letting us know about gimp.

My association with computer art of any description was an accident but I'm encouraging people to do some as an extra activity for the brain and have in mind especially engaging those with no or very limited computer skills to become more involved with computers for brain activity, to relieve depression in the elderly, help ward of dementia and for others to just increase their mental skills and re-inforce their memory and challenge their mind with the brain puzzler, sometimes one needs to spend a little time on this or return at another time.

Adele,

The signature tune is just a piece of art, produced previously.

Sometimes it is chosen with the post's theme in mind, generally this is the case, but not always.

I started doing it as I found otherwise Orble just picked up my first piece and displayed it to everyone which detracted from the correct exposure for the new art and did not do it justice.

I didn't want to create yet a fourth piece so I just select from my 'bank'.

To-day's is for me a little green man, psychedelic style, seated on some sort of 'platform', like a wide ski or a 'boogie board', skiing or surfing, but it is possible to deflect the mind image, extend it out and see other things, but the little man is my main effect, scarf flying, ski pole held aloft, arms extended for balance, the arms then just merge with the background, or he can just simply be sitting there, the end result is 'what happens' rather than an initial plan.

Hope this opens up some of the secrets for you, which are actually immaterial to my purpose, but it may help you see a little more, although your responses have been amazing.

Good old paint.net!

I love using layers. Layers are cool.

I remember the days in the 90s when my dad got us a black and white mac. I forgot what paint program we had, but I got all excited about the fact that you COULD paint on a screen. wowwwww.....

Hi Katyzzz,

Love the signature tune. It's very picasso.

My favourite is the simple play with the bubbles. It's fun and fancyfree!

As always, excellent work

Aah there... made it at last, cuppa in hand...

Now let me see...*big breath in... big breath out* what have we today....?

I love the sig tune...marvelous! Aah, I see new frontiers... it's all stepping through a doorway...even the little pony is going to go through...wonderful!

Simple Play is wonderful Katyzzz, so light and airy...it lifts me up and lightens my heart...reminds of simpler days and easier work loads...it soundz astonishing when you listen to it, doesn't it? Sort of like that old favourite; 'popcorn' with a 'wind in the willows' twist...love it!

Simple more play is getting into a more serious kind of structured board game...? I want the shoe!

This puzzler has got me... I give up... what's the answer? I think I'll make like the little man in the bottom left and just walk away from this one....*l-ing-ol*

Actually he looks like Lily's soul mate doesn't he?

Cheerio my sweet,

Lilla...

Dean,

Good to hear from you. Glad it brought back memories.

If you're 18 now and were 18 and will be 18 just when is it that you are, was and will be?

Lovely Lilla,

I'm just a beginner with Paint.net. Glad you like it, they were just my initial learning experiences.

Do you have indigestion?

I've just "LOST" a huge post, I am not impressed, time is at a premium.

This is an answer to two the same.

Lilla,

The ballet always inspires me, glad it made you cry, good for the eyes and the emotions, a great release.

Hope tears didn't get into the coffee.

I'm so glad you enjoyed coming to see me for Sunday lunch, with the family, cyberspace has very distinct advantages, cuts out the everyday stuff.

Mrs. M

It's funny like that, we are not symmetrical, if you've ever seen images of half the face reversed and then the other half reversed, one is thinner than the other. It's quite odd really.

Not you, though, you're delightful with your love and stuff, apparently, around here, I need it.

Like you, I'm tough, but still sensitive which appears lost on some people.

Naughty me, there I go again, always did love being naughty.

Give all those lovely children of yours a big hug from me, they've got a lovely mum.

katyzzz....luv and stuff
