katyzz explores the archives
December 23rd 2008 00:00
With a new year coming up where better to look at the archives than January of this year, i.e. 2008.
There's a great little post there on a pacemaker for the brain cf one for the heart which we are familiar with already.
There's some art of Jackson Pollock, remember his Blue Poles ? which the National Gallery in Canberra acquired some time ago. So there's a little bit of history there for you.
There's lots of posts on Brain Power, no surprises with that one but it's interesting to note the perspectives on which we relied at that point of time.
And, of course, amongst all of this there's some great computer art by yours truly. Compare then with now.
There's some brain games for you and some other artists for those interested in the fine arts.
One post which is particularly amusing is the proven superiority of the chimp over the human with some memory tasks.
Do you like looking at youtube and video clips, I wonder if any of you will remember what we were looking at then, those things are a great form of media one which we would not like to do without, currently.
And our darling little flocke is a feature, she really is so cute and follows fast on the heels of Knut.
Environmental issues have not been overlooked, and Mars is in the news with many expecting those little green men to be discovered.
There's the death of Bobby Fischer, who's he? you may well ask, it's interesting to look back and to be reminded.
There's smurfs and art lessons and robots and weird things, so much you've forgotten but will be reminded of if you just go back and have a quick look at what is in the January 2008 archives, just scroll down to the left under more and it's just a quick click to take you there for your own personal selection and you never know, you just might find yourself finding your very own comments.
For the photographers amongst us there's even some photos. What more could you want as you look back in time, it's an interesting experience.
Just scroll down to January, 2008 and click on and YOU"RE on.
I wonder what January, 2009 will bring?
