More on Nintendo DS and brain games

Remember that to pay these games you need the hardware, not very sturdy, if you ask me, as well as the software.
Frankly I don't think that's a good deal but you may think differently.
Brain Challenge for Nintendo DS aims to improve intelligence and reduce stress levels through a series of exercises.
But this one claims to be actually fun and challenging to play.
Players write their name and choose a male or female avatar as their trainer.
Whichever one you go for, both look alike
Players are told that they probably only use about 10 percent of their brain capacity, and that undertaking each of the game's challenges on a regular basis will lead to a greatly improved percentage.
This is scientifically unsounded, this 10% speculation was done away with years ago.
Logic, Math, Memory, Visual, and Focus are the different foci.
Each group contains five mini games with which you can advance as you play through the games.
Exercises are fairly basic, such as remembering different sequences of characters, spotting the differences in a picture or just simple old arithmetic.
But they become quite challenging as you improve, and most importantly, they are all different and fun to play.
Players are scored on their accuracy and speed.
Each test takes around sixty seconds and can be played on easy, normal or hard difficulty levels
Some exercises are more appealing then others, but the desire to get a higher grade is motivation enough for playing each one through.
This refers to the latest Brain Challenge game and they bring out new ones reasonably often but that costs you more money again.
Once you have purchased the hardware, the software seems quite cheap.
So this post just brings you up to date with a little more information than you have previously had.
I'm sure there are lots of other ways that you can play brain games, but the Nintendo system is convenient and handy and easily transportable, so you can play with it in odd places fill in some of those time gaps and relieve you of your compulsive headphones or your obsessive texting or infernal yapping on the cell phone, which irritates most of those around you who are not nearly so interested in the minutiae of your life as you appear to be.
For others it is just plain boring.
And they do not need to be told you are in the bus, train etc as it is very obvious to them as to just where you are.
