VIDEOS
The news, in general, as I can't seem to get it right yet. I have advised of the problem but I'm not sure what they are going to do.
PHOTOGRAPHS
Extreme vending - from CNN
Now this is a photograph.
A man sloshes through a Kolkata (Calcutta) alley full of water turned purple from dying clothes.
Standing water like this gives malarial mosquitoes the perfect place to breed.
Pushed out of northern temperate zones by DDT spraying and the draining of wetlands half a century ago, malaria remains entrenched in the humid tropics of Asia. Monsoon rains and poor drainage enable the disease to thrive in many Indian cities.

THE BRAIN
More and more researchers are coming out with the findings that "Now we know that even older brains can grow new, stronger connections."
North Jersey Media Group gives details of one particular but very expensive program.
POSIT SCIENCE BRAIN FITNESS PROGRAM 2.0 ($395 for a DVD for one user, $495 for two users; positscience.com)
THE GAME: Based on research of 50 brain scientists, Brain Fitness consists of progressively trickier listening exercises designed to improve the processing, storage and recall of information. It comes with a set of headphones to help you distinguish nearly identical sounds.
THE CLAIM: Retraining the brain to hear information will boost memory storage and recall.
THE EVIDENCE: In a company-sponsored study of 182 people, almost all who followed the Brain Fitness program for eight weeks saw an increase in mental processing speed.
There are others listed and I'll try to bring you details as they emerge.
TECHNOLOGY
Just a couple of pictures from Oh, Gizmo, for our male readers.
Don't forget the part that technology pays in both their manufacture and their performance and it's no wonder young men fall in love with them, is it?
Girls, we'll have to retrain their brains, or as the old saying goes, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
and now DIGITALLY speaking

Flashes of memories
We used to have to take malaria tablets - quinine. They tasted AWFUL, very foul and bitter tasting pills that would start to dissolve as soon as you put them in your mouth.
My uncle had malaria and stayed with us for 3 months while he recovered. It affected his brain and he was never the same since. often wandering around the house rambling incoherently.
I say take the pills, suffer the bitter taste and enjoy the health!
Those cars are quite something too!

That signature tune is so different, it's simple but very appealing, I'm not sure that I quite get the pirrouette although I learned ballet. But I think I sort of get it. I seem to go from seeing nothing but green black and some dots and curves to suddenly seeing just what you mean but I'm really not sure I'm seeing it as you do.
Loved the photographs, rather gave up on the video. And those brain games sound really interesting not that I've ever had any doubts about my mental abilities it's the emotions and socialising that I have trouble with.
I think I might just buy that program, it sounds like fun. I'll keep it hidden from my Mum, who already descibes me as distinctly over intelligent and sees that as my problem.
The boss is hovering, I just have to go.
Crystal.

Spring, it's a wonderful time but as the last one took me almost 12 months to change I think it will have to do for a while, I think the yellow is a good colour, like a spotlight, but I may change for every season, that's a good idea.
Lovely to see you, as always.
