There's a quite wonderful video that I would like to embed for you here, but they have not allowed for that so the best I can do is give you the link.
You may not want to become a memory champ but the clip, if you watch and listen will give you an idea as to just how important your memory is, and what steps some are prepared to ensure its good performance, these folk are amazing, watch the clip if nothing else but there's an extensive article there for those who are especially interested.
You'll see just what the tasks are that competitors are expected to be able to do, and they are sensational, I don't think I am that keen but you will learn from watching the clip and having at least a quick look at the article.
