A corny look on life for longevity.

My signature tune today is really a pyramidal puzzle, I'll put it on separately some time and I'll categorize it under computer Art, that seems to confuse people less.
I've some more interesting news on the brain and what's good for you today form RealAge available on the web for free so I don't see any reason why I shouldn't cut through the "extras" and give you some good tips.
I think I might get into the inner workings of my computer, fooled you, you thought I was going to say mind, didn't you? in order to disable JAVA, it keeps on dumping stuff in the wrong place and is thoroughly annoying and is always telling me an unknown error has occurred generally of its own making.
But, back to what is good for you.
They start by telling us to "tune up the brain", well you know what's coming don't you, yes, that's right it's about music and they remind us of our childhood and piano practice for those of us who did actually learn the piano. They even mention the violin and unless you've a good musical ear let's not mention that one.
They suggest that learning an instrument may have made the language areas of your brain more efficient, too. If you never took music lessons, here's why you should start.
Researchers recently asked a group of musicians and nonmusicians to listen to -- and reproduce -- tone sequences.
Not surprisingly, the musicians performed better on the task. But this was a surprise: As the musicians reproduced the tones, scans of their brains showed major activity in areas linked to language, leading researchers to conclude that building music skills may bolster language areas of the brain as well. In other words, studying music is like doing push-ups for your brain!
Did You Know?
Just listening to music has health benefits, too. Here's an example.
RealAge Benefit: Learning a new skill that requires brainpower can make your RealAge 1.3 years younger.
And in my opinion, setting aside those somewhat unimpressive statistics, it can do wonders for your brain without having to wait until you really need it
And don't you want your brain to be as smart as it can be?
That seems to be a good deal to me.
And here's a funny one. Blue corn tortillas may have less impact on your blood sugar -- and possibly your waist! Here's the "why" and the "how."
Researchers put both blue and white tortillas to the test and found that the blue flats had a lower starch content and lower glycemic load than the white variety. Which means that Team Blue is more likely to keep your blood sugar levels stable and help keep your appetite under control.
Another reason to go blue -- or black, or red, or purple? These rich-in-color when used in tortillas abound with anthocyanins, natural antioxidants that help steamroller DNA-damaging compounds hanging around in your body. Plus, darker-pigmented varieties dole out more protein.
And just to make your day here's a more impressive statistic,
Eating a diverse diet that includes 6 servings of whole grains per day can make your RealAge as much as 4 years younger.
So it's use it or lose it, eat well and live longer and enjoy life more along the way.
You've never seen corn like this before, have you?
Do let me know if you like this, won't you?

Techno, oh dear, your brain is SO important, but eating well and not to excess is good for EVERYTHING.
