Rowan Atkinson has been spotted getting off a plane in Zurich, carrying a very large brief case.
A reporter noticed something surreptitious about Atkinson's behaviour and gathered he was trying to keep his identity a secret.
When his identity was uncovered by the reporter, Atkinson took an almost instant defence by going quickly into his Mr. Bean character, body gyrations and bizarre gesticulations to the ready, accompanied by some very strange speech and behaviour.
When questioned by the reporter about his current promotion of his old "Mr. Bean's Holiday" scheduled for the UK, Spain and Germany, Bean, despite his characterisation, glanced nervously at his brief case, endeavouring to explain why he was flying via Switzerland.
Bean was soon seen to be shaking the reporter's hand vigorously and Mr. Bean style urging secrecy.
Whereupon the reporter let him go and Atkinson, abandoning the Bean character, slipped quietly in amongst the crowd and disappeared from sight.
There was some unfavourable press later about Atkinson's financial situation and one could not help but wonder why Switzerland and why the brief case?
Rumours are circulating that the re-run of the holiday movie, some 10 years on, is a desperate attempt to gain some more kudos from the original highly successful movie.
Mr. Bean's holiday originally grossed $35 million in the UK.
One can't help but wonder what the spate of publicity promotions and the rumours about Atkinson's finances mean in the current movie world scenario.
Have such movies become passe, and is Atkinson building his stocks in the very favourable Swiss Bank Account area.
Now, for the second news event for the day.
