For the Mind - katyzzz art, an Exhibition - for Heart and Emotions
January 7th 2007 00:42
I think it's time for another exhibition. Time surrounds me like an ominous cloud, similar to the black clouds of El Greco's Toledo.
I must not blog so often, so in between exhibitions I am doing some housework of the blogging kind.
I do hope you like this small show, I have received great pleasure from preparing it.
More is coming soon about the basics of using MS Paint, getting started free and experimentally. I hope it can be used as a tool to connect the generations, to promote brain health and to get those who are not computer literate to become so.
Whoever you are, it is good to extend one's horizons. Someone made the remark, I expect derogately, that her young niece was using Paint on the computer at 7 or 8. My son had a paintbrush in his hands at 2. I never wanted any of my children to be artists, just gave them experiences and even elephants paint with brushes. Without spelling that out further I hope I've made my point.
It amazed me that so few were interested in the art of Grandma Moses, a little ageism [?] there or should I say here, is there?
Art knows no boundaries and Grandma Moses has world renown, but obviously not on Orble.
"Out there" free from the cloisters she was well received, Orble is not the only place to go, fortunately.
I challenge, I question, if that brings more enemies than friends then perhaps I should not bother. But I do bother, the altruism of man should know no boundaries.
My art is a means to an end, not just an end in itself. Experimenting and progressing with it brings me great delight, if some of you can share in that pleasure I am happy.
But, I digress, the end justifies the means in this case and it is the end that I must keep sight of. That is why I put my blogs under "other", it's hard to know just where they belong.
Happy viewing and share your perceptions with me in the comments. Good or Bad, they will be helpful and meaningful.
Enjoy the exhibition for your brain, heart and soul.
Let me know how this affects you, won't you?

you are as prolific as my grape vine!
I get here a couple days late and there's more wings on this bloomin' gallery than I can walk in a day ... wow, I'll start here this time and work my way back...
*sipping - T2 Rooibus Chai blend*
Taste?
Exquisitely spicy and warming ... don't know why it's a 30oC day? *lol* guess I've acclimatised [or gone plain troppo], psst, I'd put my money the second one if I were you?
*cough*
Now then, spicely...
Brilliant, Hypnotic Sig tune, after a while the middle receeded and the background jumped forward, like one of the 3-D things.
Oranges blues and greens reminded of my mum's decor in the 70's... wow!
*cue the Neil Diamond, Hot August Night Album*
The royal recess reminded me of epsionage, plots and Queen Victoria - the eye... and theroyal patronage of robes in the breeze on a royal parade.
told you I'd gone daft, now I'm going to put Hot August Night on.
tanks for the memories...

If you're troppo LOL, I must be beyond the horizon and gone into Orbit.
All from a little flutter by. My money's on you! Let's see, after the haircut, not to spend my Christmas money, what's left.....well, not a lot to wager, never did have much of a mind for money, when my mind's on other things but underneath it all lies rampant greed and excess, yes, that's the new me.....I do so superby well with poverty and deprivation, I think it's time I moved on, but my altruism won't let me, so I need my lttle flutter by, whoever said these things don't have superior intelligence, I do think they comprehend life a little better. Not so complex.
Your interpretations are very valuable for me, next Friday night dinner is on me...no, I insist, I'll go into my Jemima character and there, money is no object, so it's out to a very expensive restaurant for all of us.
Keep on enjoying your cups of tea or dandelion lilly or whatever you're on, I'll stick to the straight black, although I really should go green.
My art is rather nice isn't it? Whatever its meaning. Just to think I'll have to stop doing it soon for 99% of the time, just watch my click rate fall, come to think of it, it's doing that already.
I guess I'll just have to postpone greatness, yet again!

Wow! I think these are some of the best yet!
I'm not a fan of orange, but highlighted oranges is great. I'd like to use that as background on my computer, if you don't mind.
I see Ash already beat me to the adjective 'psychedelic', but that really is the best descriptor.

I really love to see you, there's some midblue coming up.
No, I don't mind, especially not as it's you.
Yes, I rather fell in love with my latest offering myself.
Glad you arrived.
