Memory loss program

The Council on Aging is presenting Neighborhood Respite, a specially designed program for those experiencing problems with early memory loss.
The program is held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the Shores United Methodist Church Christian Education Building. Sessions began Monday.
The program features brain enhancement activity classes designed for individuals concerned about their memory, and for individuals in early stages of dementia. Classes will provide instruction and discussion in all areas of brain function such as memory, reasoning, communication, etc. They also include aroma therapy, guided meditation, thought production, neurobics, and laughter therapy. Participants benefit from specialized cognitively stimulating, physically stimulating, and socially stimulating activities.
Cost is $10 per hourly session, ($50 per day). Tuition can be reduced through a caregiver co-op agreement plan.
