The Art of any country is steeped in history and creates its own particular style.

Today I bring to you the contemporary art of Japan. Many of the images you will feel comfortable with having seen these types of images many times before.

Others are not so familiar, so apart from an exhibition it creates an education and it is good for the brain to look at images and for your mind to assess them.

At the same time it helps preserve and hopefully enhance brain function and memory.

Confronting images evoking an emotional response are more likely to stay in your memory, just the same way as the memory of everything else works.

The traces of all memories will stay in your mind forever and the more you see the more you will understand, without instruction from anyone or any particular school of thought.

As with katyzzz art your brain will be more alert and free to enhance its performance in other areas.

Anyone with a particular form of imagery they feel interested in may leave a comment which can include a request.

Happy and fruitful viewing!

I found the last one particularly interesting and so simple. It's the idea that's appealing.

I could have included so much more, there was such a variety.

Hmm yes....Contemporary art. Good for the Japanese. Relinguishing all the centuries of emotional restraint...I mean, just imagine them back in the age of the Samurai...if a Shogun didn't like the slightest look by someone--swoosh! Off with their head!

Have you ever come across any images involving illusion? Sort of like Brain teasers, ie Rene Magritte's painting of a pipe...with the statement underneath "This is not a pipe." Which sparks some real thought and brain exercise because we hit a MENTAL speed bump, because of the technicality of Language, 'no it is not a pipe, it is an image of a pipe'. Like you said, there are some images that can perserve or enhance brain functions by its appealing aesthetic-ness, but what about imagery in images that act as an illusion...that plays with our sight. -and mind

That was quite a selection. I think it ran the gamut of artistic styles.
