Is it fun being single?

"Single life allows chance to explore self, opposite sex" or so says Tove Aldrich on The Volante on line.

The article goes on to say "A majority of college- age people are not looking for a relationship.

While some do pair off and enjoy every minute of it, it's not something that is mandatory of everyone.

I was talking to a friend the other night, and he asked me what I thought about the topic. He asked if he has commitment issues and will never find love, or if it is a normal thing. Keep in mind that I'm no expert, but I am a college person, too. I'm not blind nor na've to what some people think and how some people act.

I don't think that not wanting to be tied down to someone is a bad thing. I think it's a liberating thing. People get so hung up on the idea of having a boyfriend or girlfriend, but is that what they truly want?"

Being single

I guess it's OK for the young but how do others find it and how do those in committed relationships view their lives?

Looking after your brain also includes an element of having fun. How many on Orble think their lives provide the fun that is necessary to enjoy life?

I'm rubbish at being single. I don't seem to have the knack for it. I had a gf, broke up, then decided to go for a more casual process with the next girl i went for.

Which was almost nine months ago hahaha.

Sometimes I wonder about Brenton the PUA, but honestly, i wouldn't give up what i've got for anything.

Just give it time, Brenton, you're really too young to settle down.

In a few years you'll know more about yourself and have a clearer sense of direction and hopefully some money in the pocket.

You're smart in enjoying what you have. Life is meant to be embraced. It'll all come together, in time.

Great to have your response,

It's so much fun being single, but it's so obviously trumped by being in a relationship that is equal, natural and exciting.

But I miss some things about being single. The freedom to be utterly spontaneous. The thrill of meeting girls. The ability to play videogames carefree. Playing poker, watching 'guy' movies.

a, i know eh, it kinda freaks me out a little.

I figue that the concept of an ideal time to do something is a myth anyway though so i'm just taking it easy.

Heh, I don't have to worry about not watching Guy movies - my Girlfriend is more of a Bogan than I am

Cib,

It's good to have your view, from both sides of the fence, so to speak.

I hope it helps Brenton,

and yes Brenton, I think you're doing OK. It was good to see your return so you could have the benefit of what Cib had to say.

I'd go for a good relationship any day, but I'm a little fussy and at my age it becomes a little more difficult.
