Video and Music for Insomniacs
March 26th 2008 06:50
From James Ducat comes the following which should be good, if it works, but have a look at the link he mentions to see if there is something there which may help you, I know there are a lot of people here on Orble who do experience this. It's hard to sleep though when you're wide awake, isn't it.
Perhaps this method will bring you some relief.
A combination of videos and ambient music CDs to consciously and unconsciously re-educate and retrain a person to fall asleep easily and sleep through the night, Ducat offers.
Ducat differentiates between occasional and chronic (or "hardcore") insomniacs in his article, placing himself in the latter category. He then recounts his years of struggling with insomnia and turning to "every remedy known to man, to no avail...There are surely some exceptions, but I have never known any chronic insomniac for whom sleep aids or traditional methods were a real long-term solution."
"I want people to know about this because I know there are chronic insomniacs out there and I know what they go through." says Ducat. "If you think about it, having insomnia for years on end and always making it worse by worrying about it is like training your brain not to sleep, so it makes sense that you would have to train it to sleep all over again."
The videos "completely changed my outlook on sleep" Ducat claims, while the music CDs are designed to bring on the brainwaves that cause natural, restful sleep.
