Getting more hits for your blog!

Signature Tune
Well my stats are fairly stable. At times my hits have soared but gone down faster than a speeding bullet and really I did not get many readers from it.
Now, my ratio of readers to hits is about average, sometimes a little better than average and has for the most part, for me, improved.
So I now figure I must attract more traffic and hope that I'll then be able to induce increasingly more of them to stay.
And although I have earned very small biscuits indeed from blogging there are some who actually do quite nicely, whatever your own estimate of that is. And I have not spent any money other than my internet connection which does actually keep me entertained and somewhat informed and to think it is not long ago that I did not know what a youtube was. Now we all know thanks to the erstwhile if not popular efforts of our very own Prime Minister.
So now it's attract hits and so what do I do.
Well just to kick us off there is a nice little presentation here and with pictures and some humour and I'm sure those interested will gain something from it.

I think there are too many subjective factors determining the popularity of a blog. Much of which is based on the blog's fan base be it for the writing/info or the personality of the person behind the blog...

That will always be the case, and it's not just those who leave comments and on Orble that you are interested in.
I think you still need to address some of these other factors if you're serious about getting your blog 'up in lights' but many are just here to simply blog and don't really care whether they 'make it' or not.
I just figure that if I'm putting some effort into something I should be seeking some return.
