The Eye - its anatomy and function
December 28th 2006 09:14
In the scope of this post I can do little more than give a short overview of the eye and a little of how it works. I'll give more detail on subsequent posts.
The first link is to a cross sectional scan of the eye and the muscles that move the eyeball, this is how we look up, down, left, right and obliquely up and down.
Eye muscles - cross sectional scan
The eye as we see it
Cross section at right angles to the other section
This will do little more than show you how complicated it all is
This shows a cross section of the retina showing the various layers
How the eye works - you'll need to go "next" etc for a very simple explanation. But it is a start.
There will be more to come and it is really not so easy as it is portrayed here, at this stage.
Any comments will be appreciated.

I have to start at the beginning, a very fine place to start.[sound of music]. Let's not forget our other senses.
It is nice to SEE you and your new image, but I DID like the other one.
katyzzz.....did your teacher do a little computer art for you?, too.
