The memory of our brain works through pattern. In this context, pattern refers to a series of similar recurring events that are encountered by our brain. There are many patterns being stored in our brain and they are built through regular formation based on repetition and periodicity.

Our brain has very short attention span. What this means is that our memory surface can be activated only at any one time. This may seem like a weak point but in fact it makes it easier for our brain to activate the most similar pattern.
