NDEPENDENCE — Spellbound is returning to Independence. Three years ago, the adult spelling bee was an overwhelming success to raise awareness and $21,000 towards building a new public library. People had so much fun, there was a demand for another chance at spelling glory.
Spellbound II will be held at Heartland Acres on Sunday, Sept. 12, beginning at 5 p.m. The music (group sing along), food (including homemade ice cream), auction items (quilted items and much more), and the spelling bee will all be tied to the event’s theme of “Experiencing Yesteryear.”
Previous sponsors have been contacted and teams are forming now. Three types of sponsorships are available: 1) $200 includes recognition, a team of three entry fee, and three meal tickets; 2) $100 includes recognition ; and 3) Donations under $100 in support of the IPL Foundation would be still greatly appreciated.
