There is a great deal of gentrificaiton in the states. Very sad...trees being laid waste for shopping malls and local shops being torn down for shopping malls.

It's great to see you taking an interest in Hong Kong and in environmental issues and customs.
The old and different ways fascinate me as do the customs.
Shopping Malls? nah!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the visits, katyzzz

I've been there and drank that tea, and I agree, the past should be preserved... Gosh, you already know my take on shopping malls ... to me it is they that should be torn down.
I love that old part of Hong Kong, any city really, it's the one with character. You might as well tear down Portabello Road in London and Little India in Singapore.
Pathetic greedy governments.
