What a difference a flame makes.

Razgrad, Bulgaria, 1962
Photograph by James P. Blair
On his journey through the lands traversed by 11th-century Crusaders in pursuit of control of the Holy Land, photographer James P. Blair encountered a patchwork of fire-cleared fields south of Razgrad, Bulgaria.
(Photo shot on assignment for, but not published in, "In the Crusaders' Footsteps," June 1962, National Geographic magazine)
Flaming fields
It's simple but it's elegant and it says a lot. But I am no expert. But the fields look ravaged.
What do you think?

Flashes of memories
That`s a great photo. I love fire. The mystery and danger of the flames - very seducing.

Thanks for getting me onto the front cover, Ash.
If it's not one thing it's another.
I love all these photographs.

Learning Something Everyday
Such a photo... reminds me of "Back to the future" where the car always leaves a track of flames behind after it time hoped to past/future.
It is sometimes sad to have wild fire, but it is in a way, the circle of life. When all has turned into ashes, new life sprouts from it.

You're really right into this one. Fire's burning, it is seductive as Ash says.
