Physical Exercise for the Brain, Heart and digestive Organs
August 2nd 2007 07:04
Every second someone dies of heart and other diseases.
Regular exercise makes the heart stronger and more efficient.
This reduces the pressure on the arteries.
Thirty minutes three times a week or 10 minutes every day is all that is necessary for a prevention program.
Risk factors for hypertension include age, sex, genetics [all of which you have no control over] diabetes, overweight, sedentary lifestyle and others over which you do have control.
Exercise improves blood flow to the brain with improved mental capacity and agility.
Smoking is, of course, a very big risk factor in many diseases and reduced life expectancy.
Don't exercise immediately before or after a meal.
Exercise lowers cholesterol and speeds up the digestive process and improves bowel function, thus eliminating toxins from the body faster.
Isn't prevention by exercise better than cure?
This is just a brief account drawn from a number of sources but the attached link has expanded on these ideas. It is not quoted as a scholastic reference.

So for those getting into exercise or thinking about it this post should be something of a motivator, wouldn't you agree?
