Now employers want you brain smart.

Now producers of `brain fitness' software—aimed at improving memory and keeping the mind sharp—are targeting employers.

Software programs to keep the brain fit are headed for the workplace.

Many, not just the older, wrestle with memory loss and other cognitive declines.

So now the designers of such programs are heading for the workplace.

Productivity and retention is sought from the software programs.

Several employers are testing software this year.

Experts note that brain functioning begins to decline as early as age 25.

The content of these programs varies. Each is offering different methods to achieve the same end result.

So the battle rages for acceptance and for the best market share. All are looking to Science to help establish the effectiveness of their programs.

Scholarly journals and conferences are a focus for those companies seeking evidence to support their claims.

But the degree to which software programs can slow the cognitive decline associated with aging has been questioned. Better is physical exercise.

So turn off the computer and go for a brisk walk."

The graying of the workforce is upon us. The number of U.S. workers 55 and older is projected to grow by 46.7 percent between 2006 and 2016, according to reports from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

So, however YOU feel about YOUR BRAIN rest assured BIG BROTHER will be watching YOU.

Funny you should say that Louie, Google gods like us to work for free with the occasional coffee thrown in. Mind you they don't care whether we're bright or stupid.

Ramana, I don't make particular recommendations, but I do subscribe to Lumosity, you can get a free trial, for two weeks, no credit card required, which gives you a good idea.

I do put up brain exercises from time to time, have a try with computer art, free programs available, start with mspaint and then move on to Paint.NET, free download.

Glad to have your visit.

Raven , I often think of the employers as being more in need of brain smartening. Most can only count money and little else, quite good at cheating and putting people down, too.

I hated a lot of mine. Just pure hate, quite unadulterated.

I am glad to know that exercise helps the gray matter.
