Everyone's heard it on the news by now. The French reported it, no names style, privacy has been infringed, by whom, how, what, when. Australians unite to protest Thorpe's innocence, there have been no drug tests at the world swimming events in Melbourne.
It's all about higher than usual testosterone levels and human growth hormone.
You've heard the news. What are the current views. Apparently we need better blood testing for these two natural occurring substances in the blood. They are hormones and levels can be affected in a number of ways, to support or reject, legal or illegal use in Sport.
The big problem is, just don't get caught, with this rort.
New, more efficient blood testing procedures are afloat [excuse the pun]. But it is not just swimming that is involved, it applies to a number of sports.
So, here is the good and bad news, if you're an abuser or simple regard yourself as a user.

"The World Anti-Doping Agency promises help is on the way in the form of two blood tests that will reliably detect HGH and give sports organizations an unprecedented chance to catch cheating athletes".

So, now what about the testosterone levels, which can rise as a result of taking other legal medications?
Well, there doesn't seem to be so much news around on that one, but as regards the swimming in Melbourne the following link

Sports people keep up that exercise, I think I'll just go have a lie down.
