Drug coated stents - compensation?
April 18th 2007 06:31
I really should have put this on a few days ago. Somehow, for some reason I procrastinated.
Still, better late than never and at least I'm doing my little bit, however little that may be.
This was received by me via email, just pass the news around to those you know may be at risk and deserve to be compensated accordingly.
My view is that medical claims are becoming ridiculous and excessive, Medicine is an inexact Science and always will be.
Of course, if the original research was done by unscrupulous hands then compensation really is due.
But, here's the news for you.
From the email:
Drug Coated Stents - Health Alert Newsletter - April 14th, 2007
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, cited studies this week
showing drug-coated stent recipients face a significant blood-clot risk.
The makers of leading drug-coated stents include Johnson & Johnson,
Cypher Drug Coated Stents and Boston Scientific, Taxus Extreme Drug Coated Stents.
Drug-coated stents have been placed in about 6 million people worldwide.
If you or someone you know has had a drug-coated stent implanted they may be at risk.
If so, you or that someone may be entitled to monetary damages
They then give the following reference:
UHaveALawyer
3 Bethesda Metro Center, Suite 110
Bethesda, MD. 20814
UHaveALawyer is not associated with Johnson & Johnson or Boston Scientific.
The above is a web site.
More details are:
Some patients who have had drug-eluting stents surgically implanted in their arteries have suffered heart attacks, blood clots and/or other serious injuries.
A stent is a small metal tube that is inserted into an artery to help hold open the artery so that blood can flow through it. Drug-eluting stents are stents that are coated with drugs that are intended to reduce the chance that the arteries will become blocked again. Recent scientific studies have suggested that some drug-eluting stents may increase the risk that patients will suffer serious injury after the stent is implanted.
If you, a friend or a family member have had a drug-eluting stent implanted in an artery and later suffered a heart attack, blood clots and/or other serious injuries, or later had to have the stent removed or replaced, you may request a free consultation and claim evaluation to determine whether you may be entitled to compensation.
The FDA of course is THE medical authority, but as to the legal situation, I have my doubts.
But what people do with the information is up to them
