Drawing a fine line on brain training.

line drawing for brain
Signature Tune

Experts recommend that we train our brains/minds to do things that are totally unfamiliar and new as often as we can.

There is a set of line drawings ( pictured) which you practice with drawing free hand with your dominant hand until you know the patterns. Then you start drawing them with out a reference.

Now that you have that one down then you switch hands. Yep, much more difficult and it exercises a totally different part of the brain. You can then create and practice a variety of different patterns on your own to keep the changes coming.

Provided by Isshin Ryu Karate Bunjutsu who is into martial arts and the brain.

This seems rather novel and you may like to try it.

Well, I'm sort of doing that at the moment, I'm doing diagrams on a program I haven't used before. If it wasn't for the timeframe it would be lots more fun, but I must admit there are times when I want to scream. I'm doing my initial diagrams on paper so I guess I'm doing what you suggested, katyzzz.

Learning new computer programs may be good for the brain, but frustrating when stuck...but that must stick be good for us. I am definitely learning as well as learning not to give in. Exhausting beeswax though!!

Raven, you designed buildings? Gosh...

Aha, I might get the washing in with my other hand....

my tiny mind is already exhausted trying to follow the lines without drawing!

I also read today diabetics have a high chance of 'losing it'....looks like the 'bus stop' for me!!

cheers

Tracy, lovely to hear you're having such an awful time, just think of all those lovely new neural connections you're making, the thing with this one, and your new program won't last forever, is do it, then remember it and do it then swap hands and do it and then remember it and do it with the swapped hands, but become proficient at each stage before moving on to the next one.

Washing trick sounds good too.

Ever thought about going on the stage ( clothes on, of course )

Raven , you still haven't told me about the building falling over, and no matter how ambidextrous you are, give this one a whirl, you should ace it, and then you can sit back smugly, then again.....

fog, you are just so delightfully funny, sorry about the diabetes, walk, lose weight, watch the diet and you should be diabetes free, provided it's type 11.

True story.

I think you're a long way from that bus stop, just keep on walking the bus doesn't stop where you are waiting.

And you know that's a bad sign ...just waiting at the bus stop....that's what the poor souls do, you know.

Funny, I'm still waiting for the bus, where is it?

Tracy, how about as a comedienne, just part time perhaps, we could do a double act. Just look at the umbilical brothers.
