Does Life Online Alter Your Brain?

(CNN) -- Experts believe that life online is starting to give what researcher, David Levy, calls "popcorn brain".
"Popcorn brain" is when your brain starts to become so accustomed to the constant stimulation of electronic multitasking that we're unfit for life where things move at a slower pace.
An example given is the fact that many people have a hard time just sitting and waiting for the bus. They have to be on their smart phone either playing games, returning e-mails or texting a friend.
"Studies show multitasking on the internet can make you forget how to read human emotions," said Clifford Nass, Social Psychologist at Stanford.
Studies done in China show students that spend less time online actually have more gray matter or the thinking part of the brain.
Some tips to help you deal with popcorn brain is too keep a record of your online life, set time limits for you internet use, stare out the window, establish free times, phone a friend and get tested.
