Do you snore? Watch out for your brain!

Scientists say they have uncovered more evidence that sleep apnoea is causing brain damage.
It comes amid anecdotal evidence that sleep apnoea sufferers are more likely to have road crashes, depression and memory problems.
Sleep physician Fergal O'Donoghue says brain scans of 60 sufferers found a lack of oxygen damaged two areas of the brain, including a part responsible for fine movement control and the ability to switch attention from one task to another.
"One of the messages from this study would be that it is important if you have symptoms that suggest sleep apnoea to seek medical attention and try and find out if that is the case," he said.
"Because it's not just an inconvenient problem of snoring, it can be considerably more severe than that.
"In studies in animals, these parts of the brain do tend to be subject to damage.
"And the other part of the brain is the cerebellum, which seems to be involved in switching attention from one task to another, and potentially that could be one of the reasons for the increased instance in motor vehicle accidents."

I know first hand how bad sleep apnea can be, but thank God for the advancements in medical technology.

Fortunately this is one problem I do not have and feel that I never will as I've come this far without it.
