Computer Art and seniors
Signature tune

I've talked about access to computers by older members of the community and how memory and brain health can be preserved and improved by good nutrition for the brain, good social interactions and brain activity using established and novel ways.

I hope that my computer art will open up those novel ways for people and lead to those not wishing to use computers at all and with no or little computer literacy to change that situation.

I have suggested that older people can be encouraged to use or engage with computer art via a simple computer program such as MS Paint.

I've given some guidelines for learning paint and hope that conversations in the family will encourage better communication between family members and extend to the wider community which includes older people.

I've provided some basic discussion and access to web sites so everyone may become more familiar with how their brains work and how computers work and drawn attention to similarities and differences between neural activity and computer programs.

How many of you have tried Paint or encouraged other family members to try it?

How many are interested in brain structure and function?

Who wants to know more about how computers work?

Who wants to encourage the sprouting of new neural connections to improve brain function and how many of you attempt to engage with the brain puzzler?

Just lately I've been clicking on some of the advertisements surrounding my posts and in doing so I've come across the most recent research regarding such things as folate and a variety of other recommendations with respect to vitamin requirements and it is interesting to see these accounts, I've learnt a little more of neuoscience I've listened to music especially composed and chosen to be good for clarity of thought processes and assistance with memory, I've seen some wonderful paintings and some portraits of dogs, just to name a few things.

I hope others avail themselves of this information and these experiences and look at the interview and discussions with seniors and there have also been illustrations of computer programs which improve memory and test and strengthen brain acuity.

Not only are these things informative they are interesting and show how access to computers can enhance the lives of seniors.

I hope many of you will discuss these things with others to enable the older members of the community to stay mentally alert and preserve their independent living longer.

I'll be continuing to watch out for other interesting and informative sites and to pass on this information, so do keep those conversation in the family flowing and I hope the computer images I produce facilitate this happening.

Hey Katy, I liked "More colour changes" the best of the ones on this page. Could be interpreted as a comment on the mechanized nature of modern society.

Incidentally, I'm wondering if, instead of one signature tune, you have many signature tunes.

It's interesting that many of your drawings revolve around certain ideas.

Hey, Adrian,

There's some words here, too, I rather like no 2, myself.

But it is always engaging with the puzzler that will do the most for the brain.

Nice to see you. I did actually read your philosopy blog on acscension but those types of discussions simply become very circular.

Often, it is hard to get that first response, human nature, I suppose, so I do have my advantages.

The written words to-day endeavour to answer and sum up those questions you've been asking, your mind needs to engage itself a little more.

I'll keep my eye on you and help out wherever I can, we all need a little of that.

Adrian,

Yes I do have several signature tunes.

If you see a pattern, why not tell me?

I liked some of the comments by K.D.

It's a free for all, you know! But certain things I leave to the minds and imaginations of people rather than suggest to others how they should think, feel and perceive. After all it's their minds and their perceptions.

The art is simply a motif for what I am trying to do, which is an evolving process.

I don't have a stutter, it's the silly computer that keeps repeating itself.

I like No. 2 the best, I think; I also like the simplicity of No. 1.
