Computer savvy seniors.

Anything you can do I can do better, sooner or later I'm better than you. No you can't, yes I can....no you can't, yes I can......
So what are seniors doing on the internet? and what does modern technology do for them?
" The astounding advances in medical technology across the years have definitely increased longevity of life. More and more of my generation are living better and longer lives as a result. MRI machines that quickly and accurately determine medical problems; artificial hearts, marvelous prosthetic devices, robotic surgery, home testing machines, and even the ability of an individual to use the Internet to become more savvy about their own health enabling those of my age to research our ailments online and possibly find the best treatment and the leading medical specialist."
So what do seniors do with their computers [those that can that is]?
"John Dickerson in his article, "Never Too Old," outlines the many ways we seniors now use the computer. We trace our investments, track our genealogy (Did you know that one of your ancestors was William Harrison, President of the United States from March 1841 until April 1941? His inaugural address, delivered in sub-freezing weather, droned on too long and he died six weeks later of a bad cold), producing our memoirs and, most important, maintaining contact with friends and relatives."
And dare I say it, even blog.
Here is one website with an indepth analysis of some of the situation.
Of course there are so many more that find computers difficult and some who don't want anything to do with computers at all.
It is I and they who seek to become more computer savvy and I am going to proceed progressively, just a little down that track.

Small Thoughts on Big Questions
That's his comfort zone. He knows enough to get by, and asks me about anything a little advanced. Some seniors are more daring, and some regard computers as tools of the devil.
As for blogging, I can safely assume that my dad has no idea what it is.
