Dreamscape!

November 3rd 2006 04:16
Lilla has asked me to do some Computer Art on dreams.

Interestingly enough, I don't dream much nowadays, although they say we do dream but often have no memory of them and when we do we often lose those memories very quickly.

I have had a number that stayed entrenched in my mind and others that remained vivid for some time. It's just that I haven't dreamed much that I can recall lately.

I have had nightmares in the past that were so intense and so real that when I finally realized I was dreaming it was a tremendous relief.

As a child I had some recurring dreams that seemed frightening at the time.

The second lot of images attempts to recapture that feeling. One is that I was being chased by a man in black clothes who was coming closer and closer as I attempted to get away, his legs were becoming longer and longer as were his arms as he chased me. The space between us was narrowing and then I'd come across a lift and would wait there hoping the lift would come before he got me. He never got me but it was my eternal fear.

Somehow, interconnected with this dream, I had a sense of running away and getting to a cliff edge and falling and as I fell I'd wake up, with the sensation of falling out of bed. I never did fall out of that bed.

The first image is of my taking a trip to France.

I got on a ferry at Circular Quay, just the normal, small old fashioned type of ferry and it was going to France. Can you believe that?

And sure enough not long after, there I was in France in a beautiful park, there was light everywhere and some beautiful autumn colours in what could have been leaves, but the colours just swirled around me and I felt the most extraordinary experience.

After a while, without being in any way conscious of how it happened, I was at a little railway station, way out in the coutryside in France, waiting for the train that would take me to, I don't know, Paris, I guess.

The whole experience was just so wonderful and the light and colurs so beautiful, I think I'll remember that dream until the day I die.

The last image is my fantasy dream. There's a brilliant blue sky and white clouds and brilliant sunshine, there's balloons and kites and I'm on a sandy beach watching the waves come in with the aqua water and far out on the horizon the colours of the water become deeper.
It is an idyllic setting and makes me feel so happy, calm and at peace.

Do you know that some people dream in black and white only and that those who dream in colours are more emotional?.

I found on the net this lovely little poem about dreams which I have put here for you.

Dreams

by Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

So here is my dreamscape for you, the first is the childhood nightmare, the second the beautiful one I'll never forget, and the third is my fantasy dream

Katyzzz,

Did I say that I think your other stuff, like your latest work on 'The Pictures You've Been Waiting For' (above) do the most to stimulate my dreamzzz....

Thanks Katyzzz,

.. for the good advice... I have my weekly Yoga, meditation and nature catch-up due this afternoon...

I feel I need it this week....

Thanks for visiting my Dream Interpretations Post, I'm really thrillied that you enjoyed the read, but I didn't see you leave a dream there to reveal....?

Thanks again for the extra special images and (particularly the abstract ones) now that our wires are back in sync. I know I look forward to seeing them and I'm sure many others will enjoy them too.

Do you run orbleart-classes for this stuff...I'd love to learn how to us MS PAint... any tips...?

Lilla,

Just open it up on your computer, or download it from the net for free and start playing and fiddling and realize Rome wasn't built in a day, and that Rome won't burn while you fiddle.

You need to be patient. You'll hate it at first.

I'm looking for suitable instructions on the web and I'll create a link but it is not top priority, the good one I found disappeared.

No, I don't teach it and don't want to. I'm sure it would give me nightmares. But that, you know is a different story.

Luv, katyzzz. What's for dinner, Friday of this week?

Lilla,

Yes I do like to cook but cooking for one is not much fun.

Friday night at your place sounds fantastic. I'll buzzz up in my private jet. Don't worry about the pilot, he'll make his own arrangements in between attending to his other duties. Just as well money is no object, eh?
