Eat your veggies, but not like this....

More and more research points to the diet and cancer connection.

For example, the closest associations between diet and colorectal cancer are high fat intake, particularly saturated fat, and low consumption of vegetables.

In Going Green, Cheap and Easy, you'll get all the information you need to avoid pesticides and carcinogens and preservatives that have been implicated in cancer.

If you load up your plate with fresh broccoli and spinach, you’re doing your body a favor. But are you missing out on other veggies at the market that are actually much better for you than your "regulars"?

I’m talking about a "misunderstood" subset of veggies that are packed with more nutrients and antioxidants than your standard fare. According to a study funded by the UK Food Standards Agency, these "Superior Foods" contain 53% more beta carotene… 38% more health-boosting flavonoids… more muscle-building protein… more potassium… and more of the elements needed to foster complete nutrition.

Discover which veggies you should be eating… And which ones you should avoid…

These are just small extracts from a vast array of information presented, so the main point of this post is to raise your awareness so stay on the look out for fresh, best, pesticide free or diminished veggies (katyzzz)

Hey Katyzzz I love corn, green beans, lettuce, broccoli, and peas. There are few more but these are my favorites.

You'll do all right with those, but think about carrots and beetroot, too.

My new diet is high in broccoli (my fave), beetroot and I have spinach on my sandwiches every day.

No more Maccas - lost a bucketload of weight literally - up to about 7kgs now and feeling so much better for it.

I'm really pleased to see you Jason and such a lovely long comment, and such a tale of success, well done, watch that raw spinach too much oxalate is bad for you, you really do need to cook spinach, but your diet sounds terrific. And what a good sort you are.

I'm really happy you like the picture, it's a recent favourite of mine.
