Dec 4 - U.S President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush ushered in the holiday season in Washington DC with the annual lighting of the National Christmas tree

Several thousand people gathered at a park just south of the White House for the annual ceremony. Bush noted that it was the eight and final time he would be presiding over the ceremony which is now in its 85th year.

Hey Katyzzz a sad day, at a festive event, Bush love him or hate him he will be missed. I wonder if there will be another tree lighting in DC next year, or will this be the last for a while.

President Bush has many good qualities and took the great USA through some very troubled times. People have short memories.

Let's hopr there will be many more Christmas tree lightings.
