The concepts of Nirvana
April 8th 2007 09:36
Unlike the general perception of Nirvana, as being some form of enlightenment, Buddha established its meaning as Absolute Truth and the concept has been with us for about 2500 years, that's a very long time indeed and one can only speculate as to the reliability of record keeping during that period of time.
Wisdom frees the mind to create the ultimate feeling of happiness and Buddha has many disciples.
The concept of Nirvana cannot be described adequately in words, but Dr. Ruwan M. Jayatunge MD discusses this in a learned and enlightened way in this article available via the link
This is a very detailed account and I know there are many interested in the ideals and practices of Buddhism and what it does for mind, body and soul.

I seem to be having lots of signs for me to do some yoga and meditation soon....I've been a bit lazy lately.
I also love Nirvana (the band, Ash)...and have been having nightmares as well.....I can relate....
Great reminder, katyzzz,

As nightmares affect and are affected by the brain, I'll do a little post on nightmares soon.
Tune into them and see if they give you some inkling as to what is bothering you.
There's a lot bothering me, but I don't have nightmares that I am aware of, but I do remember a couple, going years back that I found quite terrifying and I was awfully glad when I woke up.

That would be great if you do a post on nightmares and the brain. Mine go in patterns and I generally have an idea of what's causing them, but easing them is another thing...or maybe I'm not looking into them enough to make a change if you know what I mean? Hope you are both well,
Trace xx
