Brushing and flossing can be good for your heart and blood vessels as well as your teeth, according to a research.
In a research done by British and American scientists dental cleaning helps the flow of blood through the veins which in respond can help prevent heart attack and stroke.
The reason behind the teeth cleaning on heart attack is not very clear, but scientists speculate that the bacteria infecting the gum tissue around the teeth can enter the blood stream.
These bacteria can cause damage to arteries and result in heart attack.
Another reason could be that the gum disease bacteria can trigger a low-grade inflammatory response throughout the body. The study shows a link between improving dental health and healthier heart condition.
