Is Adsense beneficial to your click rate?

I have recently joined adsense; although I notice some more interesting advertisements there seems to be little, if any, improvement in my click rate.

What do other bloggers think?

It would be interesting to have your views.

Not everyone has come here just to have their name up in print, some of us actually want to see some financial reward.

Incidentally what was sought was 'writer', there was no stipulation that one needed to be a good writer, nor any implication that this was intended as an avenue to increase your writing skills, just to write.

Do respond, but be 'politely' bold.

If you want to make money you should get a job. Not blog. IT was made incredibly clear to me vbefore I started, that if i was to compare time to money, I'd be doing as well as an eight year old African girl working for Nike. If you're in it for money, you are wasting your time.

BTW your click rate influances your earnings, not the other way around. Hope that helps.

Brenton,

I asked a question. You have not answered it.

Yes I know the click rate influences the earnings rate, that was not the question, nor did I seek your advice about getting a job, nor did I say I needed one.

I was not told about the African worker. I was prepared to discount my services but not this much.

I am trying to make this venture more financially viable, as I feel sure a lot of other people are.

I have had lots of work, I am not seeking a job, I did not say I needed the money. I am asking about and questioning the use of adsense.

I am generally pretty tolerant about what people have to say but I do not ask your opinion about how I should run my life.

You will live to eat your own words, I just hope you make sure that they are tasty.

Now, back to the question to hand, I want to hear from people who have some opinion about adsense and its presumed influence on the click rate.

Orble already has Adsense on everyone's pages, so you won't see any difference between before joining and after joining. Joining Adsense removes some of Orble's administration and makes it easier for us to do some things like co-blogging. Adsense has no effect on the number of hits you receive.

I believe the highest paid bloggers on the internet only make a few hundred a month. These are sites with several hundred thousand hits. No one makes enough to live off by blogging. Very few people make more than enough to pay for a dinner out each month.

i use adsense in on of my blogs, which already had good traffic. i didn't notice adsense helping the traffic or click rate. i gather that u have to have already established audience to make adsense work for u. it takes lot of time.

Katyzz....I'm still on the fence about the benefits of adsense...As Adele mentioned Orble already has Adsense. I have an adsense account on one of my other blogs and I have to say the ads are more targeted to what I write rather than the generic ads that appear on my Orble blog.
Unfortunately, little of it has translated into actual money for me so I am by no means an expert
From what i've seen , I think for adsense to generate more money, writing about the latest "hot' topic helps more than the actual writing skills of the blogger.

Hope that helps

Yes,

Those comments have been helpful. Thankyou ALL.

What I suspected was true is true, it appears.

However, I do see more interesting pictures, videos etc float on and off, more off than on and some of those look interesting enough for people to click. I guess it's a matter of who clicks and when and when the better adds appear. All very problematic.

I think it is probably pretty useless being involved in blogging unless one wants to talk about celebs, movies etc.

Thanks Lily and Lilla,

I just wanted to check out the usefulness of adsense, it's good to have a wide view.

Lilla, cousin it, who? you or me? don't mind if it's me, I just love compliments. Cousin it is much more attractive than I.

Lilla, Yes, still waiting to be paid.

I think next week will be THE week, I'll have to borrow from Peter to pay Paul, and when Peter gets repaid is anybody's guess.

Just checked my adsense, 3 cent, let's see $99.97 to go before I get paid, that will take me into the year....still counting.....

There are people out there who make far more than a couple of hundred dollars a month on blogging.

Luke,

Yes, like Adele I'd really like to know. I assume you're not talking about porn sites.

Hi

This has been a helpful post, I haven't moved over to Adsense yet (just because of time) and I was wondering if it made any difference money-wise.

Tracy,

I can't say I've moved over, just added.

There are some more interesting ads, infrequent and disappear as fast as they arrive, so I think the potential is there, I did notice a difference for about a day, could have been a coincidence, but I am looking to streamline what I am doing as I shall be involved heavily in other things soon, but what I am trying to do may be impossible, but I am still experimenting.

aintitcool.com comes to mind... those guys pretty much live off their site and various peripheral things involved with it.

to be honest, I would've stopped blogging months ago if I was only making a couple of dollars.

Luke,

Thanks for a bit more information. I don't want to become too involved with blogging, just get more financially from what I am doing and the small amount of time I'll soon have [if any] for blogging.

It's good of you to share.
